Maureen Finnerty Turner, MEd, LCMHC, RNBC, LCSW, ASCH-Approved Consultant has pioneered in developing new techniques in psychotherapy since 1972, when she founded C.O.P.E. (Coping with the Overall Pregnancy/Parenting Experience), a nonprofit organization – which became the first ever Licensed Mental Health Clinic to specialize in pregnancy and parenting issues. Turner was the Executive Director for 20 years, and brought programming to over 60 communities in the Boston area, including hospitals, high schools and youth programs. Her work was documented in Voice for America, the International and U.S. editions of Woman’s Day magazine, syndicated in national television and local broadcasts, radio, and social media.  She was a frequent contributor to Parents magazine and a contributing author to Our Bodies, Ourselves, First Edition, and The Woman Patient.  She has served on numerous community and statewide Boards of Directors. 

As the President of Motivation Hypnosis since 2001, Maureen Turner has used her extensive background in nursing, psychotherapy, child development, and parenting issues of the past 52 years to develop innovative hypno-analytic techniques. Techniques such as the "Turner Somatic-Affect Bridge Technique" and the “Turner Rescue Mission,” a protocol to help facilitate the re-integration of traumatic experiences. The "Elman-Turner Induction Technique" is an adaptation of the well-known "David Elman Rapid Induction" that Turner has added both a Self-Hypnosis and Trance Depth Anchoring technique.  Turner has been specializing in Hypnotherapy for the past 25 years, and has taught hypnosis to thousands of individuals and has facilitated many thousands of Rescue Missions.  She is also a specialist in diagnosing and treating ADHD and PTSD.

In 2006, Maureen Turner moved to Burlington, Vermont and established a full-time practice, with offices in downtown Burlington and in rural Isle La Motte, VT.

In the Fall of 2008, Linda Thomson, MSN, APRN, ABMH and Maureen Turner Co-Founded and Co-Directed Hypnovations: Clinical Hypnosis Education and Training Programs.  Between 2008-2018, Thomson and Turner facilitated 13 workshops and trained over 400 clinicians in hypnosis. 

In 2010, Maureen Turner began the Age Regression Seminar Series.  In addition to her seminar series, she has presented to numerous professional organizations and local clinical hypnosis chapters.  Most recently, she presented two workshops at the World Congress of Clinical Hypnosis in Montreal, Canada.
